Conifer High School 2010 R-word Campaign

On March 3rd, 2010, Special Olympics Colorado Youth Leaders including Reggie Dickhoff, Hannah McClure, and Kaitlyn Smith organized an r-word campaign at Conifer High School were they encouraged peers and school administration to join the Spread the Word to End the Word movement by taking the pledge to remove the r-word from their vocabulary. They took the school by storm, creating awareness about the offensive and hurtful effects that the r-word has on their fellow peers with intellectual disabilities, giving everyone at the school the opportunity to pledge online, as well as sign a pledge banner. T-shirts, bracelets, buttons, and stickers were given out to all that pledged.
